I am not a writer . My inspiration and motivation to write has been spearheaded by my amazingly talented , caring and encouraging daughter-in -law and my loving sons ! Before venturing to pen down my thoughts i invoke the blessings of The Almighty to enable me to express my thoughts effectively.
This reminds me of an article i read the other day by a renowned author regarding her radical views on God . While asserting that spirituality and religion had nothing to do with one's belief in God she goes on to say that "the idea of God is a reflection of man's insecurity". This is a somewhat debatable and at the same time biased view .....dependence on The Almighty cannot be defined as insecurity for that is the fundamental source of strength in mortals. The atheistic approach thats she manifests in asking whether anyone has seen God seems to me a very irrational and immature point she has raised. Viewing nature's beauty and bounty, the wonderful animal kingdom and the intensely complicated human anatomy..can anyone be skeptical about God or A Super Power? His omnipresence and omnipotence is so obvious and evident. As for talking of God's wrath which gives Him a bad name according to the esteemed author and makes Him appear as a" stern head-master" punishing the wicked and rewarding the meek, is in reality the cause and effect of karma or karmic retribution.
It is true that religious wars are a result of fighting over "our" gods ,and that the tenets of religions are man-made as she argues and therefore need not be followed yet these issues cannot negate the existence of Our Creator. Besides the rules and regulations laid down in different religions form the basis of a sound value system to lead humans to follow the righteous path. Religious principles cannot be undermined completely..for they have their relevance. Though renunciation and abstinence are not necessary to know God .Absolute faith in Him can only lead to knowing Him - whether one visualises Him wearing Gucci or a dhoti is immaterial !
